Monarchs are hopeful of agreeing a return to Armadale for 2005 no. 1 Rusty Harrison, having been given permission by parent club Workington to speak to the rider.

Although Rusty has already stated his wish to return, there was a concern that the Comets may have insisted on him rgoing back to Cumbria, especially in the wake of the unfortunate news on Carl Stonehewer's fitness.

However the Comets have bowed to the wish of the rider to have another year with the Monarchs, so the Edinburgh promotion will be speaking to the rider (who is in Australia) over the weekend.

Rusty was top of the averages for Monarchs in 2005, adding nearly 2 points to his previous year's average, and lifted the MSSC Rider of the Year Trophy, the Raymond Jarvie Trophy, the Pullar Family Trophy and the Monarchs Chatzone Trophy at the end of the season. He became a great favourite with the supporters for his 100% effort and skill.
