As at Sheffield, Monarchs came away from King's Lynn having earned high praise from the locals, but with a pretty heavy defeat.

Few teams have got anywhere near the Stars at home this season, and there was never any doubt about the result, but there were numerous good races in a very enjoyable meeting.

We actually had two of the first three race winners, with Derek Sneddon and Henrik Moller taking the chequered flag. Later Theo Pijper, who was competitive all night, managed to get a rare win over Stars' top man Tomas Topinka.

Matthew Wethers was consistent on his old track, but Moller ran into problems in his later heats with an engine failure and two severe lifts at the tapes.

Monarchs used rider replacement for William Lawson who has a back problem.
