Monarchs held their Champions' Dance in Edinburgh on Saturday, and the return of Scotwaste as team sponsors plus Ryan Fisher and Andrew Tully for the team were the major news announcements.

Stewart Melrose of Scotwaste admitted that business conditions are bad for him at the moment as for so many others, but said Scotwaste simply had to stay as sponsors of the team which had enjoyed so much success in 2008.

He expressed hope that a business upturn would ensure his company can continue with the Monarchs beyond 2009.

Later in the evening John Campbell invited Andrew Tully on to the floor to sign on for 2009. Andrew from Bathgate has raised his average from around 4.5 to around 7 in the Championship season, and recently showed some of his best form when he rode at Elite League club Wolverhampton.

Following that came the signing of Ryan Fisher, thus ending speculation that he might return to the Elite League next season. Ryan paid tribute to the support of his wife Daelyn who he said had more belief in him than he had himself, and added ?This year at Edinburgh has pretty much turned my life around.?
