Fourteen points down after heat 9 at Scunthorpe, the Scotwaste Monarchs set up a strong fightback and went in to the last heat with still a chance of winning. In the end we took a point which was a reasonable return.

Our inspiration was Andrew Tully who knows the track so well. He took a 6-pointer by beating David Howe in heat 10, and also grabbed the second place ahead of Magnus Karlsson in heat 15, which secured the one match point.

Everyone else chipped in with a few points other than Sean, who struggled again on an away circuit.

As usual at Scunthorpe there was some good racing with riders on both sides pulling off some good overtakes. As well as Tully, Fisher and Rajkowski took race wins with Fish heading in-form Magnus Karlsson in heat 11 in which he made his only good start of the night.

There was an excellent travelling support for Monarchs with many fans having a Bank Holiday Monday out.
