Hail Kevin Wolbert! Our newest signing gave his best display yet as we went down at Brough Park, brilliantly winning heats 13 and 15 on a track which required a lot of resolve and skill.

Brough is heavy and rough these days and many visitors don't fancy it. By and large our riders tried hard but the performance was generally patchy as we went down 54-38.

Ryan Fisher won heats 1 and 5 and seemed likely to be a major force, but rather like at Workington he faded, falling for the third successive time while taking a TR (and leading heat 13).

Aaron Summers won heat 2, and our other race winner was Kevin Wolbert. He started with three second places, including a 4-point TR, and by that time he had got the measure of the place.

When Ryan fell in heat 13 (we were on an 8-1 on the opening lap) Kevin laid his bike down. In the rerun he

blasted round the top home pair of Larsen and Lemon and raced off to win in a fast time.

Off gate 3 in the final race he didn't make a great start but again he was forceful on the first corner and pushed through to the front for another great win over the same home pair.

For this he won the annual Julian Barnett Memorial Trophy.

It was a bad night for Matthew Wethers whose gating is giving serious cause for concern. He fell heavily in heat 3 after passing Derek Sneddon, struggled in his next couple and pulled out of heat 14.

Aaron Summers had his moments but was passed a few times due to his insistence on avoiding riding wide, while Michal Rajkowski is currently being overtaken in virtually every race.

Byron Bekker had one good ride and Max Dilger displayed a slight improvement in his final outing.

However it was the Wolbert show we will remember and hopefully we will be seeing plenty more from him.
