Scotwaste Monarchs have been surprised to see a news story in a local newspaper suggesting that they are "in the process of buying his (Ryan Fisher) contract outright"

Co-Promoter Alex Harkess takes up the story, "We have no plans to buy Ryan's contract. Our probable move from Armadale Stadium at the end of 2010 season means that we must conserve funds as much as possible to help any move. I have spoken to my counterpart at Coventry, Colin Pratt, about the availability of Ryan for the 2010 season and he has not given me permission to even speak to Ryan about next year. For the moment that's how the matter stands and if and when it changes I hope that we will be able to take Ryan on loan again for 2010."

The local newspaper also speculated about a sale being lined up for talented young Swede Thomas Jonasson to Elite league club Swindon. Harkess again takes up the story, " Swindon are amongst a number of Elite League clubs that have contacted us about using Thomas in a doubling up role in 2010. We have declined all approaches so far until we have decided what we will do with Thomas. We were due to meet him over the weekend for initial discussions when he was in this country but he returned home somewhat earlier than expected. Those talks may take place by telephone this week."
