WASHOUT AFTER TWO HEATS

On a damp, cold and disappointing night at Armadale the Scotwaste Monarchs' match against Rye House was abandoned after two heats.

Not all that many hardy souls had ventured out to see the action. It had been drizzling on and off for quite a while before the match, sometimes heavily.

The rain eased off and allowed the match to start, and the first heat was quite entertaining. The Rockets gated, Matthew Wethers rounded Bowen into second and Kevin Wolbert followed suit shortly after.

Then Matthew set up an inside attack on race leader Jordan Frampton, while Frampton attempted to hold his machine in tight to leave no gap. At one point Matthew came through but Frampton regained the lead, and took a good victory.

In heat 2, Tyson Nelson held the lead with Dicken and Bekker following, only for Byron to spin round and earn an exclusion.

In the rerun Morley backed up Nelson for a 5-1. However it was then announced that there would be a 15-minute delay as riders were having problems with their vision in the drizzle. At that point everyone probably felt we had seen the last of the action and so it proved.

Ironically there was very little more rain, but it will be preferable to see the Rockets return on a dry surface.

We will let supporters know what the new arrangements for readmissions are, shortly.
