The Scotwaste Monarchs romped to a 61-33 win over Glasgow with both Andrew Tully and Craig Cook unbeaten, and good scores for all of the side.

Cook simply destroyed the opposition, whereas Tully had to work a little harder, but they were the two dominant figures in the meeting. Monarchs had no failures whereas Tigers’ points came almost entirely from their heat leaders, though Mason Campton did manage one genuine point in his final ride.

The track was in great condition again but with only three of the visitors providing significant opposition, the racing didn’t reach the heights of the previous week. The best heats featured James Grieves who had outstanding races against Derek Sneddon and Theo Pijper.

Tigers used two TRs, second places for Grieves in heat 7 and Screen in heat 11, but both were up against the unbeatable Craig Cook.

All of the home side recorded wins or paid wins, and they totalled 12 race wins in all with just a single last place. By heat 12 Monarchs were 16 points clear, and they added to this with three 5-1s to finish with.

Heats 13 and 15 were strong examples of just how well Tully and Cook are going at home at the moment as they romped away from the Tigers’ heat leaders.

Monarchs now head for Ashfield on Sunday with their tails up, though obviously it will be a much harder match through there.
