Supporters lucky enough to get a ticket for tonight’s Audience with Craig Cook had a very enjoyable evening, topped by the last action of the night which was Craig signing his 2014 contract to ride again for the Scotwaste Monarchs.

That got the biggest cheer of the night but there was plenty of applause and quite a few laughs, as we first ran through Craig’s life story so far, then after the interval Craig and Will gave a talk summarised by presenter Gordon Campbell on some of the options, decisions and problems they can have while preparing Craig’s bike. And we also learned that his Armadale engine is called Tallulah!

We then watched Craig’s top dozen heats from the 2013 season (a DVD which is available with copies of Cookie’s Year, available in the Air Fence section of our web shop).

After that Gordon told us that the Evening News reports of Craig signing for the team had been exaggerated. But luckily, he did have a pen with him…

He then signed his contract in the presence of John Campbell and Alex Harkess, and Cookie is a Monarch again.

John Campbell finally announced that the evening had raised over £1,000 towards the Air Fence Fund, from an evening which had been the idea of Craig and Will. And not only that, the Cook family have also sponsored a panel at £200!
