Ed the Monarch was excited to receive an Ed size race jacket from Stewart Melrose of Scotwaste at Press Day on Saturday and it wasn't long before he was wearing it with pride.

Ed had a very successful guest appearance at the new Arnold Clark showroom in Armadale a couple of weeks ago and they were very impressed with him there. Although Ed is happiest in his own den he is prepared to go on the prowl elsewhere if he is given sufficient notice. He can't promise to appear as he is a busy lion away from the speedway.

Two Scotwaste Monarchs were hoping for some additional practice on Wednesday evening. Stevie Worrall was due to line up for Cradley at King's Lynn but that match was called off at midday saving Stevie a trip from his Lancashire home.

Craig Cook was not so lucky. He was due to captain Belle Vue in their Elite League match at Birmingham. However, rain at six o'clock caused the postponement of that match with all the riders already at the track.

Stevie Worrall will get another chance of some rides tonight when he lines up for Swindon in their Elite Shield match against Poole.

Online tickets are selling well for Friday and, of course, you can avoid the queues on Friday by buying your ticket in advance.
