Historically, the first half of November is fairly quiet at a time when supporters reflect on the success or failure of their club, as the case may be, and wait for the next big date which is the Annual BSPA Conference.

The Promoters will meet this Friday to discuss, debate, argue and lay down the structure of British Speedway for the year 2015 and I think it's fairly obvious what topics will be on the agenda this weekend! As usual the points limit for the Premier League will be set and I can't see anything other than the 42.50 that we've had in recent years to be altered. Personally, I would like to see it rise to 44 or 45. It simply annoys me that successful clubs are forced to split up a winning squad. It is intended to level the teams but in reality it doesn't as it's usually the same clubs anyway who rise to the top of the league as the season closes.

I wonder how they will deal with the Fast Track system that was introduced last year. Good idea but to the wrong league! An extra two fixtures home and away in the PL was definitely a bad idea and, in the end, was a right pain! And, for goodness sake, stop riders from riding in all three leagues. So, what would you like to see? How about clarity on the 'all four riders back' and insist they go immediately back to the gate and not return to the pits for a cup of tea! Personally, closer to home, I'd like to see six extra fixtures against the Glasgow Tigers, Ed the Monarch become the non-riding team manager next year and an X-factor winner who can actually sing!

Well, until word sifts through from the Conference, I'm going to relax and get my strength back! I'm just back from the Cotswolds at what was described as a social weekend for solo folk which when translated was actually a knees-up for singles (sad eh!) where there were five women for every man! I don't know where they get their energy from! Now, when's the next one!

Looking at my diary, I see the next event on the calendar is the Season Review at the Thomas Morton Hall in Ferry Road on Friday the 21st. Tickets are selling well for this night and I'm told that more than 50% have already gone. Better get yours now before they sell out.

It's a few weeks away yet to the kiddies Christmas party on Saturday the 6th December and the following Friday it's the first traditional Video Night. That's the 12th. I know I'm going to be at all three and look forward to catching up with you next week. I'm sure you've got lots to chat about. Till then, take care and be good!
