Sam Masters completed his recovery from his slow start to the Aussie Championship series by finishing second in both the final leg and the overall series, behind the champion Jason Doyle.

Third place seems to be a tie between our other men Max Fricke and Justin Sedgmen though whether or how that will be resolved we don’t know.

Doyle had sewn the title up as early as his second race and didn’t let up then. He dropped his only point to Rohan Tungate.

Sam Masters also rode well throughout, beaten only by North and Doyle, though he led the latter for a bit. Doyle, Masters and Tungate were the qualifiers for the A Final and either of our other two would have finished ahead of the other on the Series podium had they won the B Final. However Max was ruled out on 2 minutes and Justin, who started the series so strongly, came third.

Sam's 2nd place is the best ever finish by a Monarchs' rider.

It hasn’t been the strongest of Aussie Finals but our trio can be happy with their performances. Overall points: Doyle 69, Masters 52, Fricke and Sedgmen 48, North 47, Tungate 46.
