After their thrilling win over Glasgow on Friday evening the Border Roofing Monarchs travel to Workington on Saturday evening to complete their League Cup qualifying programme.

Friday's victory leaves the Border Roofing Monarchs top of the Border section of the League Cup but qualification for the semi finals is not yet certain. In fact anyone of three teams could still get to the next stage and it is possible that two teams from this group will qualify.

To win the group and guarantee semi final qualification the Border Roofing Monarchs must lose by no more than six points this evening. That task will be all the harder as Kevin Wolbert has been recalled to Germany for their national Pairs Championship. That is a decision that the Border Roofing Monarchs have been fighting all week to overturn.

If we fail to pick up a match point tonight then all kinds of possibilities open up for other teams. Assuming that we do not lose by 36 points tonight then we are assured of second place in our group with Workington needing three wins to top the section. Our semi final qualification would then be dependent on Newcastle not winning their last two home matches by big scores.

So it's all to play for at Derwent Park this evening.
