Dreadful weather on Thursday night and Friday morning has brought an early postponement to the Border Roofing Monarchs v Redcar match scheduled for tonight.

So the story so far this season at Armadale is three rain-offs, one wet meeting and one nice dry one. We believe it is the worst start ever to a Monarchs’ season, frustrating for everyone not least our young riders who just can’t gain any experience.

John Campbell said “The track is absolutely saturated, and even though it is scheduled to improve this afternoon, there is no chance of the track drying up. It’s very depressing.”

With no away matches this week, the team’s next outing will be the League Cup match against Glasgow at Armadale next Friday night.

The website bird this week is a cormorant.
