Walking For The Monarchs

Border Roofing Monarchs fans turned out in force this Sunday morning for the Derek Wilkinson - Scott Wilson fundraiser, the Monarchs 100.

Most of the fans were walking across to the north side then back, one or two did it one way, and there we some who were there to encourage, but everyone's efforts were greatly appreciated.

John Campbell and Alex Harkess we amongst the walkers as were Ed the Monarch and Bananaman. We were also joined by Alan Longmuir of the Rollers, wearing Monarchs' tartan, and members of the cast of I Ran with the Gang.

Everyone then headed for the Black Bull, Mid Calder for soup, sandwiches and pies prior to heading for Newcastle where unfortunately it's a weakened side we have tonight in a league match against the Diamonds.

Scott Wilson would like everyone to have their sponsorship money in by the end of September. It can be handed to Scott or Derek, or to Jane at the Monarchs Mall on a Friday night.
