Less than 3 weeks to go now till the tapes go up on the Harrison’s Scottish Open Championship and we can now announce rider number 3 from the field.

That man is former Monarch and current Glasgow Allied Vehicle Tigers captain Aaron ‘Spud’ Summers

This is remarkably Aaron’s 11th season in the UK since he first was introduced by the Monarchs back in 2007. Spud is undoubtedly enjoying the best spell of his career since the reinvigoration of the Tigers under the Facenna brothers and no doubt it was one of the highlights of his career to lift the KO cup with the Tigers last season.

Surprisingly despite the majority of Aaron’s career being based in the north of the country this will only be his 3rd appearance in the open. Both of his previous displays previously have been steady with 9 points in 2008 and 10 points and a losing semi place at the last open in 2014. Aaron will be looking to put a marker down at the start of the season as he looks to battle back to the number 1 jersey at Ashfield.

Aaron’s rider sponsorship package is currently available. This includes recognition as a rider sponsor, admission for two to the Open, two match magazines, a DVD of the Championship and the specially-made racejacket that will be worn by Aaron on the night, autographed by the man himself - all for just £120. Follow the link below to book this package now!

So 3 down 13 to go so look back tomorrow when we will announce the 4th rider who will be going after the famous Jack Young trophy.

Tickets are on sale now with sponsorship packages also available details of all can be found here for what is sure to be a hotly contested night of racing to raise the curtain on our 21st season at Armadale.
