We are now at the halfway point of announcing the men that will chase the Jack Young Trophy in this year’s Harrisons Scottish Open Championship and that man is Peterborough captain combative Dane Ulrich Ostergaard!

Ulrich is now vastly experienced having made his British debut in the 2002 Open before picking up a team place at Eastbourne the following year. He has really settled at Peterborough though as he enters his 4th consecutive season with the Panthers and 7th overall. The highlight of Ulrich’s career was undoubtedly his 2015 Premier League Riders Championship.

The former Redcar man will be making his 3rd appearance in the Open with the most successful of these being his 3rd place finish behind Sam Masters and Craig Cook in the last running in 2014. Ulrich may not enter the meeting as one of the favourites but he has made a habit of playing the spoiler during his career and no one would be that shocked if Ulrich lined up in the final once again.

Ulrich’s rider sponsorship package is currently available. This includes recognition as a rider sponsor, admission for two to the Open, two match magazines, a DVD of the Championship and the specially-made racejacket that will be worn by Ulrich on the night, autographed by the man himself - all for just £120. Follow the link below to book this package now!

So 8 down, 8 to go! Look back at 10am tomorrow when we will announce the 9th rider who will be going after the famous Jack Young Memorial trophy.

Tickets are on sale now with sponsorship packages also available details of all can be found here for what is sure to be a hotly contested night of racing to raise the curtain on our 21st season at Armadale.
