Kyran Lyden is the third rider to line up for Stellar Monarchs Academy as he continues in the side for 2024.

Returning for his second full season with the Academy, and at National Development League level, effervescent Kyran Lyden said, "I'm very excited to be signed up with Edinburgh in 2024. I loved my time last year, it's a very tight knit club and everyone looks after one another.

"It was an easy decision for me to come back to Edinburgh, like I said it's a tight knit club and the fans are really friendly. Everyone there believed in me and boosted my confidence. I've been talking to Scott [Wilson] pretty much the whole winter, he wanted me back and for me it was somewhere I wanted to be."

Lyden's 2023 season came to an early conclusion due to a shoulder injury but he is back to fitness and looking forward to the new season, "I want to start off 2024 like I did last season. Moving up to number 2 was a surprise for myself but now I know I can do it and I am aiming to get back to that position.

"The injury I had half way through the season was gutting and I'm working hard with physio and the gym to prevent that from happening again.

"I am hoping to give the fans something to cheer next year and I know Scott and John have built a strong team. I'd love to see a full stadium for the NDL meetings!"

Stellar Monarchs Academy team manager Scott Wilson is pleased to have Kyran's character in the side, Scott said, "Kyran is a great character to have around the club. His enthusiasm is infectious and he's a bit of a joker in the group chat, on track walk etc. which really helps with team spirit.

"Having said that, as I've got to know Kyran more and worked with him more, I can see that underneath that joviality is a young man hungry to succeed. I'll be looking for him to take on the senior reserve role this season and increase his average."

Lyden joins the Stellar Monarchs Academy 2024 line up to contest British Speedway's National Development League this spring.
