Certainly one of the good things about our unlucky and disappointing season has been the captaincy of Derek Sneddon.

Derek has remained positive throughout recent weeks, and thinks the fans have also been very supportive in the circumstances.

"I think the fans understand that we are trying. If it wasn't for injuries, and rules, who knows what we would be doing, but the fans have stuck with us and not given us too much stick for getting beaten so much recently.

"It's good to see and a lot of them say to me that they are happy as long as they can see we are trying.

Everybody keeps saying the same: ?It's all about next year!

"Personally I had a good night on Friday, kind of tailed off in the end a bit.

"Getting asked to be the captain, and at the same time asking Kenny to give me a bit of a help in the pits, actually gave me a bit of a lift. I'm feeling a wee bit confident about riding about Armadale now!

"I used to be a bit stressed about riding at Armadale. Now I can go to the tapes feeling reasonably confident. The bike seems to be going well too.

"So it's a number of things; the bike setup is working, people are helping me in the pits.

"I just want to do well for the team; how on earth could you tell someone to have a good night and try to gee them up if you are having a terrible night yourself?

"But if you're having a go then you can tell someone else to have a go too."
