Ipswich's Chris Schramm will stand in for Monarchs' injured captain Derek Sneddon in Friday's eagerly awaited clash with the Wolverhampton Wolves.

The ever-trying ?Schrammy' had been one of the early choices to fill the gap but initially he felt that coming from a Thursday night meeting at Ipswich was too much.

However once Monarchs had tried and failed to land any of the other suitable candidates ? several have packed up for the season ? they were faced with either using a junior or going back to one of the initial choices. Chairman Alex Harkess felt that Schramm had been swithering about making the trip so he tried him again ? and persuaded him!

Who knows how many points the ex-Reading, Berwick and Newport man might get, but he has been riding at Elite level this year and is guaranteed to give every race his full commitment.

Monarchs will also be presented with the Premier League Championship Trophy on Friday.
