DISAPPOINTING RAIN-OFF

The Scotwaste Monarchs match at Somerset was eventually postponed after a frustrating 40-minute wait for the rain to pass over.

A very good number of Monarchs' fans had obviously decided that the two-day trip was a rare chance to enjoy a speedway holiday.

The track was wet but raceable at start time, but a heavy drizzle kept returning. The Monarchs' riders were still keen to get out on track, but the longer the delay the more likely the eventual rain-off became.

No restaging date has been agreed.
