Scotwaste Monarchs’ Craig Cook has been in sensational form this season, sitting in the top five of the Premier League averages, and he feels the time would be ripe to take on any doubling-up places which might be available in the Elite League.

He says “At the start of the year I didn’t really want to double up but maybe now I’ve found my form and got my confidence back maybe it is time for me to move up again. I’ve been watching who’s in the Elite League teams and who’s not doing so well, but it depends on averages as well. It’s a numbers game.

“If a spot arose for me now I think I’d jump at it.”

Last season he rode with Belle Vue as well as Monarchs, and had some very good matches, though he admits that he let things slip in both leagues in the second half of the season.

This year with his dad working for him full time, he has shown complete focus and professionalism.

Last weekend he scored 28 out of a possible 30 points in the home and away matches to help Monarchs to defeat Rye House in the KO Cup, and his form has never been better.
