It might not come as a great surprise after his maximum at Armadale on Saturday night but the Scotwaste Monarchs are pleased to confirm that Hungarian Jozsef Tabaka will remain with the team for the rest of the season.

John Campbell said “He gave a thrilling performance on Saturday and has been a pleasure to deal with.

“Because he has been picked as a Wild Card for the European Championships there is a chance he will miss one or two meetings in September but we feel we can cope with that.”

Initially Jozsef was only intended to be here for a month as injury replacement for Micky Dyer. He returns to the UK on Sunday to race for the team at Newcastle though he will miss Friday’s Stormy Wethers Testimonial.

He won his first race at Armadale on his return in the Rye House match which was subsequently abandoned, and has had scores of 8 (at Somerset), 9 (home v Somerset) and 12 (home v Newcastle) since then as well as crashing out of the match at Sheffield.

Marcel Helfer will also remain with the team and Micky Dyer has been offered to other clubs on loan.
