Max Fricke has arrived safely in Scotland having made an almost non stop flight from Melbourne. Just a short stop in Singapore with another slightly longer stop at Heathrow, they don’t fly from Heathrow to Edinburgh in the middle of the night, and Max and his parents, Lisa and Rodger, arrived safely in Scotland on Saturday morning.

Straight to bed should have been the order of the day but they were determined to overcome jet lag as quickly as possible by giving bed a miss for another twelve hours.

Max was given a severe grilling by the immigration people at Heathrow wondering why such a young man should be coming here to work and also questioning whether he had the means to support himself in the UK but Max took it all in his stride and was able to enter the country. There was a bit of a queue behind him at the immigration desk once the quizzing was over.

Lisa and Rodger are here for just over a month to help Max settle into Scotland and racing in the Premier League. Rodger will be busy with Max building up bikes this week from parts that have arrived from the UK, Europe and a crate from Australia.

Lisa will be taking more of the tourist option was delighted to find that just across the road from their temporary home was the beach and the sea. She hopes to have a dip in the sea on one of our brighter days this week.

Needless to say, Max is super excited about being here and can’t wait to get involved in the action. Max said,” Since I signed for the Scotwaste Monarchs I’ve thought of nothing else. I did the last few meetings in Australia on European silencers instead of the Aussie mufflers and that put me at a huge disadvantage but I needed to get ready for racing here. I’ve been told that Plymouth is the most distant track to us and it will take eight or nine hours to get there. There are only two tracks closer than that to my home in Victoria. I’m really looking forward to Friday and getting on the track and seeing as many Monarchs fans as possible. Bring it on.”
