Scotwaste Monarchs management are praying for better weather so that the team can get on track on Friday for a much needed practice session. With heavy snow falling on Monday evening and due to continue well into Tuesday a major change in the weather is required to allow final preparations to be made to the track.

Alan Bridgett and his band of helpers have been working hard at the track for a number of weeks now and he said, “We’re more or less ready to go for Friday but at this time of the year we have to be wary of frost. I’ve already endured that nightmare at Wolverhampton this year for the Fast Freddie Testimonial and we’re keeping an eye on the forecast just now.”

Theo Pijper is the only Scotwaste Monarch to have raced in a meeting so far this year although Craig Cook is a busy man with meetings at Birmingham, Swindon and Eastbourne coming up this week. For the rest Friday presents the opportunity to get some vital practice before the season opens against Berwick on Good Friday.

Alan added, “We’ll obviously do everything in our power to get the practice on because that’s what all the riders want but, as always, we can’t control the weather and if we are to have any bad weather this season then I suppose it would be better to get it out of the way on Friday.”

The Scotwaste Monarchs will be on track from five til seven on Friday and everyone is invited to attend. They’ll then be in the stadium bar afterwards for a Meet the Riders session.
