The Scotwaste Monarchs have made a team change, with Australian Mitchell Davey replacing Marcel Helfer in the side. Mitchell will make his debut on Friday against Plymouth.

He has been riding at Redcar as an injury replacement for Max Dilger, and has scored reasonably well, but now that Max has returned he was again available. Mitchell has also been working in the pits with Max Fricke and was already a popular part of the crew.

It’s true to say that Mitchell doesn’t have a great Armadale record from his Glasgow days but he is very keen to improve it, and has practised in our second halves earlier in the season. He last rode in a full meeting at Matthew Wethers’ Testimonial last August.

We wish Marcel well for the future. We all know that he sometimes had some terrific rides, including a win at Berwick earlier in the season, but he also struggled badly at times. He is disappointed but accepts he hasn’t been scoring well. We also wish to thank the Dunnett Family and John Underwood who have helped Marcel while he has been here.
