The Scotwaste Monarchs continue their busy spell with the final league matches of the season at Newcastle tonight and Workington tomorrow before heading off into the Knock Out Cup semi final replay with Somerset.

The league meetings still remain vital for the Scotwaste Monarchs as a maximum eight point haul will ensure that we finish top of the league and give us first pick of the play-off opposition. For sure it is not an easy task.

On Sunday evening the Scotwaste Monarchs head off to Newcastle without two of our top riders. Claus Vissing is racing in a Polish Second Division play-off match for Krosno against Krakow and this takes priority over our league match. However, a rule change last winter means that we are a granted a rider replacement facility.

We were dealt a further blow on Saturday evening with the news that the final World Longtrack Grand Prix in Morizes, France had been rained off and will be restaged on Sunday afternoon. Theo Pijper has no choice other than to stay in France so we’ve booked a guest in his place in Redcar’s Aaron Summers.

Theo and Claus will be back for the meeting at Workington on Monday evening but Craig Cook is forced to ride in an Elite League match at Peterborough and with so many meetings arranged for Monday night it is proving exceptionally difficult to find a guest.
