Thanks to great coverage from All Sports Radio in Australia, Scotwaste Monarchs’ fans were able to enjoy coverage of the three Monarchs’ riders doing well in the first round of the Australian Championships at Kurri Kurri today.

It certainly sounded like a great event, whether it could possibly have been as exciting as the commentators made it sound who knows. They were highly entertaining in true Aussie style.

The A Final result was Jason Doyle, Chris Holder, Cam Woodward, Troy Batchelor. Our men can be very happy with their performances.

Sam Masters was on 9 with a win in the opening heat, and finished fourth in the B Final.

Max Fricke scored 9 with a great win in his final qualifying heat, re-passing the very promising Jack Holder. He was unlucky not to make the B Final.

Justin Sedgmen scored 8, no race wins but a steady performance.

Emails were arriving from the UK and being read out on air, several from the Monarchs’ camp.

There was also comment from Todd Wiltshire who seems to be heavily involved with junior development over there. The commentary was from the Todd Wiltshire Lounge!

The remaining two rounds are at Undera on 8th January and Gillman on 11th January.
