One of the biggest social events ever to take place on the Edinburgh Speedway calendar is almost upon us.

The Air Fence fund raising, a Brief History of Speedway Racing in Edinburgh, show gets underway on Friday evening at 7.30pm. Said John Campbell. "We've a lot to get through this evening so we must start at 7.30pm so we hope that everyone will be in their seats by that time. The whole show will run for about two and a quarter hours plus the interval for the buffet."

It has turned out to be a massive undertaking to put the show together. On view will be 175 photographs, 20 videos, 6 speakers and thousands of words to explain the history of speedway in our area. You'll even hear music from periods of history long forgotten. And all of this will be enjoyed by an audience approaching 250.

Doors open at 6.30pm and we would ask everyone to try and get there as early as possible. There is a large car park at Meggetland but with other events going on in the sports field surrounding the Clubhouse the car park will be full long before start time. However, there is ample street parking in the area.

The postcode for the venue is EH14 1AS.
