After days of planning, weeks of construction and months of waiting our air fence rose from the ground at Armadale today as the air blowers did their job of filling the bags with air.

It was a major operation, that took almost nine hours, to attach and inflate our air fence. The task was made all the more difficult as a gusty wind did not make the air bags easy to control. But as the sun was beginning to go down the final part of the fence was finally positioned and the job was complete.

Following the work conducted by Ronnie Anderson and his team throughout the winter it was SCB track inspectors Alan Bridgett and Colin Meredith who had the task of setting the fence in place.

Alan commented, "We were caught out a bit by the wind that started to blow just as we were starting the installation and we probably could have done with a few more helpers, but we persevered and it was a great sight late this afternoon to see the air fence fully inflated. I'm very pleased the way it has all turned out but I'd be even more pleased if it wasn't tested throughout 2014."

Supporters have the first chance to see the air fence live at the practice session on Saturday, starting at 5.00pm.
