Stevie Worrall has confirmed that following a visit to hospital x-rays show that he has broken his wrist and his season is over.

It is a dreadful blow to Stevie after such a great season for him and he is "gutted" at missing the final weekend of the season.

Stevie was involved in what was described by onlookers as an "awful" crash in heat 10 of the National League Play Off between Cradley and Coventry at Wolverhampton on Tuesday night. In a first bend incident Stevie tangled with Coventry rider Stefan Nielsen and both came down heavily. Although Stevie walked from the track he was holding his arm.

Said skipper Derek Sneddon, "We've had in the back of our minds that Stevie might be missing anyway due to the birth of his first child. We now know exactly what the position is and we can plan for that. All the boys are absolutely determined to win the Championship and, just as we did last week in the Knock Out Cup, we'll have to do it now without Stevie. The situation hasn't changed, we're going for the win."
