SCOTWASTE WERE JUST SHORT OF THE DECADE

When Scotwaste came on board as Monarchs’ team sponsors in 2006, neither party probably thought we would stay together for as long as nine seasons.

They first came as Hospitality guests, and liked what they saw. It’s the longest team sponsorship we have ever had by a long way and certainly one of the longest in Speedway history. During the Scotwaste era, we have won numerous trophies including three league titles (2008, 2010, 2014).

Stewart Melrose and his colleagues at Scotwaste have been there to enjoy all these triumphs with us, and they must have thought that success just came naturally to the Monarchs. Not for a long time it didn’t!

So while we are sorry to be losing Scotwaste as team sponsors, we understand why it is happening and we appreciate that Scotwaste are sorry to be going too. As Stewart earlier this week, “I really do consider it a privilege to be associated as main sponsor especially through such successful times for the team.”

Those on twitter may have seen Stewart add “bitterly disappointed not to sponsor Monarchs this year. Had a great run and wish the club & fans every success.”

Of course we have every intention of continuing the success but for sure the Scotwaste era will always be regarded as a great part of Monarchs’ history.
