Border Roofing Monarchs bosses are anxiously awaiting news from Craig Cook ahead of Friday evening's match against Newcastle at Armadale.

Craig withdrew from Belle Vue's match at Swindon on Thursday evening with severe headaches. These developed on Wednesday evening and persisted throughout Thursday. Craig does suffer from these headaches on occasions but this is the first time he has been forced out of a meeting because of them. He is to give an update on Friday morning concerning his fitness to ride on Friday night.

Erik Riss completed a course of laser treatment on his broken collar bone at the physiotherapy centre of Brian Simpson in Ipswich on Thursday. Erik is still unsure if he will be fit to ride on Friday as it is less than a fortnight since he suffered the injury. If he doesn't ride and Craig also pulls out then it will be a rush on Friday morning to find a guest to replace one of them.

One man who will definitely be missing on Friday is the Newcastle guest reserve, Josh Bates. He took a tumble at Poole on Wednesday night racing for Wolverhampton and he pulled out of the British Championship semi final at Sheffield on Thursday evening and also the match at Armadale on Friday. Diamonds bring in Luke Crang to replace him.

We look forward to welcoming back to Armadale one of our Incredibles from last season, Stevie Worrall. In what was a normal situation for him last season, he was riding at Swindon on Thursday evening for Belle Vue and helped the Aces secure a league point with his 7 + 1 score.
