Tonight's meeting at Armadale between the Border Roofing Monarchs and the Ipswich Witches goes ahead this evening despite the rain that has fallen elsewhere in Scotland.

The has been a rain band sitting north to south over the country all day but generally Armadale has been to the west of this and has not experienced the volume of rain that has fallen just to the east of the stadium and to Edinburgh. The cloud also began to lift from about two thirty onwards and the forecast suggests that we have seen the last of any rain for the day. There could even be some sunshine before start time.

From the track Alan Bridgett said, "We had heavy rain during the night and we've had a couple of heavy showers during the day mixed with periods of dry weather. It's dry here now (Alan speaking just before 3) and it's quite humid. I'm told that the weather will improve for the rest of the day so we're just proceeding with some track work to get everything ready for start time."

Although Coventry's fixture was rain off early this morning Danny King will still be missing from the Ipswich team. He picked up an injury in Denmark on Wednesday and would not have been fit to ride today.

Gates open six thirty for a start at seven thirty as the Border Roofing Monarchs look to gain as big a lead as possible in this League Cup semi final to take t the return at Ipswich in early September.
