Josh Pickering hasn't had much luck in our last two meetings not least with his fall in heat 8 at Newcastle.

Josh was comfortably holding third place in that race and we were heading for an important heat advantage when Picko overcooked the first and second bend turn and ended up in a heap against the fence. Both he and his machine were very second hand after that.

Anyone who saw Josh after his return to the pits at Newcastle would have thought that a day or two in bed might aid his sore neck and back but Josh had different ideas.

On Monday morning he set off down to the south of England to get his two engines serviced and also to get his bent bike frame straightened. With those jobs done by Tuesday afternoon he was resting before setting out on the trip back to Scotland on Wednesday.

Said Josh, "I've got no time to rest at the moment. I've got to get the bikes ready for racing so hopefully I'll have done that by Wednesday night and then I'll get a rest on Thursday. I'm still a bit sore at the moment but I'm expecting to ride on Friday."
