In a season ravaged by injuries, updates on Paco Castagna plus the Acadamy's Alex Spooner, Kyran Lyden and Jacob Hook's injuries are now available.

Paco suffered a dislocated shoulder and cracked the head of the humerus after a crash in Italy in June. Specialists at the time recommended a month on the sidelines, however a fresh diagnosis has shown the injury to not be healing as well as expected.

Paco is now targeting a return to the saddle in time for Monarchs' away match to Redcar on August 11th meaning he will miss crucial fixtures against Berwick, Plymouth and Poole.

Meanwhile over on the Academy side, bad news came from Poland earlier in the week with Jacob Hook suffering a broken collarbone. Jacob will be on the sidelines for Friday's clash at Belle Vue and the next home match against Berwick Bullets, however aims to return in time for the Academy's final scheduled matches in September.

Alex Spooner continues to rest to allow his smashed collarbone to heal and has no set timeline for his return to action currently, but still hopes to return this season.

Kyran Lyden awaits surgery for his ongoing shoulder issue which rules him out for the rest of the 2023 season.

The Club wishes all riders the very best with their recoveries.
