Monarchs Secure Back-to-Back Programme of the Year Titles

Stellar Monarchs have secured the 2023 Speedway Star Programme of the Year Award making it back-to-back triumphs.

Each year the national speedway magazine Speedway Star conducts a review of all programmes in British Speedway to select their Programme of the Year. Following success in the 2022 awards, the Monarchs match magazine has scooped the title again in 2023.

The Club has long held a reputation for producing a high quality match magazine packed with terrific content carefully curated by editor Mike Hunter. Winning the award two seasons in a row is testament to the excellent work of Mike and his team.

Stellar Monarchs Co-Promoter John Campbell was delighted by the news, "It's brilliant to receive the award once again and we thank Speedway Star very much. Howard Jones and Paul Rickett do a great job in conscientiously reviewing every club's programme.

"The award is wonderful reward for all the hard work our programme team put into it each week. Mike Hunter has done a power of work with the programme over very many years and Graham Munice excellently gathers content also.

"We have many contributors who write interesting articles each week before my sons Graeme and Gordon put the design together and get it away to print. Thank you to all."

The 2022 Monarchs match magazine received the highest ever mark in the Speedway Star Programme of the Year Awards coming in at 98, however the 2023 edition has bettered this with an incredible 98.5 out of 100 score.

Speedway Star Programme of the Year Co-judge Howard Jones said, "It doesn't get much better than this. Our champion issue last time and here was another supreme publication, faultless in every way."

Fellow Co-judge Paul Rickett added, "This has to be one of the best speedway programmes ever produced. It looks great, has top class design and content, even an interview with a visiting rider. The photographs are quality and the card cover takes it to another level. It shows what can be done with planning and commitment... this has to be the benchmark to which others should aspire."

The Stellar Monarchs Academy match magazine performed admirably also, securing top spot amongst National Development League programmes and taking third position overall with a score of 93.5 out of 100.
