Monarchs went into 2015 under new captain Craig Cook defending 3 National titles, but with only three remaining from the previous year’s side. We now had a German influence with Kevin Wolbert back partnering new boy Erik Riss. First up was the League Cup and we were battling with Glasgow at the top of the section. The Tigers had been enjoying the Allied Vehicles revolution and had Richard Lawson, Aaron Summers and Nick Morris as heat leaders. When we faced them on 24th April, Tigers were after at least a point and Monarchs wanted to deny them by taking all three (in those days, if a visiting team took a point then the home team lost one).
