With Plymouth making team changes and looking a stronger outfit, and Monarchs heading into the match without Max Fricke, no doubt many people wondered if this was where our winning run would come to an end.

That feeling would not have diminished as Ben Barker won heat 1, and Kyle Newman won heat 2, both home 4-2s.

But from that point onwards, there was only one team in it. Justin signalled the start of a great night with a win in heat 3 with Derek passing new man Adam Roynon, then Sam and Stevie put us ahead with a 5-1.

Craig and Justin made it 16-8 in heat 5, then we probably had a bit of luck when Kalle was adjudged guilty for bringing down Aaron in heat 6. We shared that behind Barker.

Next it was Justin and Derek taking 5 in heat 7, bringing in a TR for heat 8 – Kalle. However Sam killed that one off with a good win and Kalle only just managed second after a great battle with Stevie.

Heat 9 also featured a soft exclusion with Aaron the victim this time as Roynon toppled over when our man passed him. We lost that 4-2 but the brilliant Sedgmen then soared home ahead of Barker and Katajisto, leaving us 35-27 ahead with the hardest heats behind us.

The match was totally killed off as we took another 5-1s in the next two races, with Worrall in both of them.

We were then happy to see Craig get the better of Barker in heat 13 before easing off over the last two races. Eleven in a row.
