We took six tactical points against Workington but still went down to a fairly heavy loss.

We lost several chances to score a few more points, but in the end the recurring problem of lack of race winners was apparent - just two Monarchs took the chequered flag.

That was Henrik in heat 1 and Rusty when on a TR in heat 6. In fact these two were the only ones to take points off Comets' top four.

In the early stages the track was tricky with riders struggling on the bends.Derek (heat 2) and Rusty (heat 4) lost the lead on the final bend after losing control.

Best races of the night were the efforts of Rusty and Theo to come from 15 metres, Rusty passing Piszcz in a spectacular battle after he had touched the tapes, and Theo catching Aidan Collins on the final bend of heat 12 when on a TS.

This will obviously be a tough bonus to pull back, especially as we lost at home to Workington in the Premier Trophy.
