The Scotwaste Monarchs suffered a delayed start to their Premier League programme due to last Friday’s rain-off, and this week face testing fixtures away to Ipswich (Thursday) and home to Scunthorpe Scorpions on Friday.

Well, the weather got the better of us last Friday and our first Premier League fixture of the season had to be postponed. When I arrived at the track about 3pm there was a little mist but an hour later it had lifted and there was no hint of the rain to come.

We've had a fairly successful season so far this year in hospitality although a big event was washed out on Friday evening. However, this week we do not have a booking for either lounge.

It was a huge disappointment for everyone at Armadale on Friday evening when the rain came tumbling down just half an hour before start time and caused the postponement of our first Premier League match of the season.

The bad weather held off and the Armadale track was reasonably dry well after 6pm, but the rain grew more relentless and eventually there was no option but to call off the visit of Sheffield Tigers.

Craig Cook and Derek Sneddon were in action in the British Championship Semi Final at Sheffield on Thursday evening and Craig made it through to the final, finishing in second place on 13 points behind winner Danny King. Derek finished on 4 and failed to qualify.
