It’s a change of race day at Armadale this week, please don’t come on Friday as the Border Roofing Monarchs race Redcar on Saturday night with a 7pm start, needing to win by more than 2 points to qualify for the semi-final.

The Border Roofing Monarchs trailed all the way at Plymouth tonight before a last heat 5-1 from our best two performers, Craig Cook and guest Brady Kurtz, salvaged a point from a 42-48 defeat.

Looking at the previous week’s match against Workington, Devils’ reserve Sam Simota had scored 14+1 and so he was likely to be a danger man again. So it proved against ourselves when he scored 13+1 and was the match winner for his team.

On a day which was apparently fine for everyone else in Scotland, Armadale was the exception, suffering heavy showers during the afternoon. This meant our hard-pressed track staff working furiously for a matter of hours to produce a smooth and rideable surface on which the Border Roofing Monarchs beat Rye House by 59-34, extending their lead at the top of the table.

The start of the meeting was delayed by 25 minutes but when the action got going Rye House put up a good show before the Border Roofing Monarchs ran out winners by 59 to 34.justin Sedgmen and Kevin Wolbert both scored 13 and excellent first time visitor Nikolaj B Jacobsen and Edward Kennett both scored 10.

All meetings down south were off but Scotland was mainly dry – other than Armadale of course which had some lengthy afternoon showers to contend with.
