"In spite of some call-offs amongst the riders on and off track, the 60th birthday celebration event at Armadale was a success with some very entertaining racing.

Individual winner of the 'King of the Monarchs' was Carl Stonehewer, who also won the team competition for his team Powderhall by winning the final race after Powderhall and Armadale had tied on 33 points.

Some of the racing was surprisingly hard-fought with Buzz Burrows often in the thick of things, and Robert Eriksson showing he still remembers how to dominate the first bends at the track.

It was a sunny night and it was a chance for everyone to relax and reflect on the their own personal experiences of the past 60 years. The prizes after the final race were presented by Bernie Persson.
