Another heavy pre-meeting shower left us with a tricky track once more, contributing to a long night which ended with a great heat 15 and a 56-33 win for the Scotwaste Monarchs.

There were a few machine problems in the home camp, and more than a few riders in difficulty on both sides. The referee had some tricky decisions to make and did not necessarily seem to get them all right, though neither side benefitted more than the other.

The top star of the meeting was William Lawson who sailed serenely through all the problems and never looked like losing. He won a great battle with Andre Compton in the final heat.

There were big scores also for Matthew Wethers and Andrew Tully, and race wins for Derek Sneddon and Ryan Fisher. Ryan though suffered two exclusions and was especially unhappy about the second one, in heat 11 when he was adjudged to have brought down Ricky Ashworth.

The match lasted a full two hours and in mid match Monarchs seemed to be struggling a bit. However by the end the score was pretty emphatic once again.

Had aggregate bonus points still applied we would have gone into heat 15 level. This race featured a thrilling two laps of passing and re-passing from Lawson and Compton, then another overtake as Matthew Wethers made it a home 5-1.
