Monarchs comfortably withstood the challenge from Workington with only Andre Compton scoring as well as he can round the Armadale circuit.

The first four heats were riddled with stoppages and with both Doolan and Competon winning their first heats, and Adrian Rymel picking up an exclusion, there was no real reason to believe that the visiting heats leader would not give a stern challenge.

In fact Rymel never got going, scoring 3 of his 4 points in heat 12 when he beat Thomas Jonasson, who himself had a disappointing night after being brought down by Rymel in heat 3.

Big gun visitors or not, the star of the show was Andrew Tully who scored a great 5-ride maximum. Whether from the gate or the back, he stormed to victory every time. Heat 14 was his biggest problem as Andre Compton was well clear at one point, but he made a mistake on the second corner which Tully was quick to take advantage of.

Tully also came out for the final heat with his maximum on the line, but another remarkable second corner cutback took him clear to finish with the full 15.

All the home men scored at least 5 and surely not many sides will hit 60 against Workington this season.
