  Edinburgh Monarchs

After a miserable day with a huge amount of rain, it was a major triumph to get tonight's cup tie on. Monarchs secured a satisfactory lead by winning 59-31 and will fancy their chances of going through.

There were points throughout the side, except for Thomas Jonasson who had major bike problems and managed just one point. There was a maximum for Ryan Fisher and just one pojnt dropped in five rides by Andrew Tully.

As on Sheffield's last visit, Josh Auty was by far the best visitor though Joel Parsons, Richard Hall and Paul Cooper all had some good moments.

The second leg is on 28th May and Monarchs will be hugely disappointed if they do not qualify.
