After some dreadful weather the Armadale track caused problems for the riders, but the Scotwaste Monarchs prevailed again after a tough tussle.

Some of the refereeing was contentious to say the least, with several first corner incidents which most people saw differently from the refereeing team (trainee plus southern official Daniel Holt).

Ryan Fisher fell had two first corner falls (the first time with assistance from Kerr) and Andrew Tully also fell twice (in heat 14 thanks to Paul Fry stopping in front of him). Michal Rajkowski also came to grief once and with all this going on, the Wasps were making it a close match.

Leigh Lanham made an excellent debut for them, missing out only in his TR ride in heat 13, and both Frampton and Kerr were very competitive.

The match winner was probably Aaron Summers who fell in heat 1 but was otherwise steady, scoring 13+2.

Monarchs led by only 4 points at heat 9, then took three 5-1s in the next four heats (and escaped a likely 1-5 reverse when Kerr fell on the last bend while leading heat 11).

That was the spell which turned the match in favour of Monarchs who have so far managed all 3 points in the 10 home Trophy and League matches. It will be tough to maintain this against King's Lynn next week.
