Newcastle's announcer and journalist Barry Wallace has praised Andrew Tully's efforts at his track, at the start of a big week for the Scot.

Barry felt that his score didn't do Andrew justice and sent us the following message:

"At first glance, his 7 points from 5 rides in a 66 - 26 thrashing might hardly seem worth mentioning, but I have to say it was one of the hardest-working 7's I have ever seen and, in other company - probably in a Monarchs' team - he would more than likely have got 10 or 11, so close did he get to turning thirds into seconds, etc.

"I look forward to seeing him again when a new date is eventually arranged for our PT match."

Andrew will be preparing for his British semi-final at Sheffield on Thursday. He will need to make the top eight to qualify for the British Final, and amongst the opposition are Scott Nicholls, Danny King, James Wright, Tai Woffinden and William Lawson.

Thereafter of course he joins the team for the Cup tie against Rye House on Friday and Saturday.
