The Scotwaste Monarchs’ captain Matthew Wethers believes his team can overturn the 20-point deficit on Friday against Ipswich to qualify for the KO Cup Final.

Wethers himself has shown excellent form in three meetings over the last few days, and he said “It’s do-able! I think we definitely have a chance to reach the cup final. We just all need to get our form going, it seems week after week someone has an off night. If we get everyone going we will be unbeatable”.

He added “The 20-point gap was probably a bit more than we hoped for. The Tactical (double point) Rides make a difference, you don’t get them in the cup.

“It looks worse than if you go there in the league and get a couple of double point rides, and you can say well, we got 40! They are going to come to us now and get no double point rides”.

Ipswich won the first leg last Thursday by 55-35. Monarchs will have Craig Cook back at no. 1 for Friday’s second leg.
