"Speedway should have returned to Armadale Stadium this coming Friday but due to the ongoing freezing weather it has been decided to make the early decision to call the match off, and plan for the re-opening to be 7 days later on Friday 5th April against Glasgow.
The area has been under snow for some time, and this is forecast to continue. Even if a thaw had arrived (and it is not forecast) it would have been impossible to get the circuit in racing condition.
On top of that, zero temperatures are forecast for Friday, and the east wind blowing into the enclosures would have introduced a wind chill equivalent to minus 6 degrees!
Of course it’s a blow to have to wait longer to see speedway but we’re hoping that when we do start in will be in conditions which will allow everyone to enjoy their evening.
All vouchers and advanced tickets valid for this match will be valid for the following Friday (5th April) against Glasgow.
Best Wishes from everyone at Armadale to one of our biggest favourites Andrew Tully, on loan to Newcastle this year, who was injured at the Diamonds’ practise yesterday. We hope for good news on his condition and a speedy return to action.
